by | Sep 15, 2022 | Please Expand: Conversations From the Soul | 0 comments

Addiction may be a taboo topic, mostly because it can be a difficult one to understand. The stigma of addiction comes from the negative feelings that many individuals may hold for people struggling with substance use disorders, and their beliefs that poor personal choices are to blame for the disease. On this episode, we tackle some of the stigmas and understandings that are tied to substance use. Joining me is Lisa Jorgenson, AMFT, APCC working with individuals with mental health disorders and substance use. She shares her own personal and professional experience of substance use. Tune in as we scratch the surface on a difficult conversation about addiction and mental health.

Latest Episode Topic: Imposter Syndrome

Imposter syndrome can feel like self-doubt, being a fraud, or not belonging as part of a group or organization. For example, starting college might leave you feeling as thought you were not meant to be there and are not capable. Here’s the good news though, it is more common than we think, especially when we are going through transitions and trying new things. We can overcome imposter syndrome celebrating our successes, sharing how we feel, and cultivating self-compassion.
